    I have to admit that as a naive high schooler back in the 00s I absolutely fell for the anti-paraben hype and it actually made me so paranoid. If I had to borrow a skincare item from someone and it had paraben in it I’d freak out and fixate on how cancer was probably forming in my body from the small application. I guess that’s what internet insanity will do to you. I still feel uncomfortable seeing the word in an ingredients list all these years later even though I know better now.

    I have never had healthier hair from blow drying…temporarily it will look smoother but it is never healthier than air drying for me. It could be user error but i also often need to wash my hair sooner from blow drying.

    Love the content. What's the science on heat protectant products?

  • @warlokyx
    @warlokyx 4 часа назад

    True, but also if formulated with tranexamic acid cetyl ester salts then that takes care or the carboxylic acid portion of the problem and can be argued that this would provide better transdermal penetration. That said this would still pose the problem of hydrolysis of the ester back into the active igredient, but carboxylesterases tend to be promiscuous enzymes and wouldn't that be a fair assumption to just happen in the tissue itself? Would love to hear your input.

    I have never needed to use sunscreen, ive only burnt myself when ive been outside for 3 hours plus in direct sunlight on a particularly hot day. I think its naive to think that sunscreen has NO risks and ALL of the chemicals used in the products are safe and healthy.

    So, interesting fact: the shampoos from the brand Paul Mitchell almost all have MCI, and i havent checked but i think my stylist uses a shampoo that uses one of those ingredients in it, too, because when my step-mom had me using the Paul Mitchell shampoo, my scalp would itch like crazy, all the time. And when i would get my hair cut, my stylist talked about my scalp flaking when it never did before, and claimed i wasnt washing my hair enough, when i was (which was honestly kind of embarrassing, bc my step-mom and sister then would claim the same thing). After i ran out of that shampoo, i switched to a different brand for curly hair, and my itchiness and flaking miraculously stopped. Now, getting another hair cut after getting a hair wash by the stylist, i got a few days of itching on my scalp in recovering from, which is why I'm thinking it's one or both of those ingredients i may be allergic to.

    I know adecdotes are not science, butI adore my tretinoin. The tret purge was rough, but after a few weeks, I noticed a drastic improvement in the texture, evenness, and sensitivity of my skin. My acne was so bad I had to sleep with ice packs on my face to ombat the itch and burning. Now, I get the occasional pimple, but it goes away after a couple days of tretinoin. I've even notice my "11s" fading from my forehead! I will use this till I'm dead and buried.

    This is the best RUclips video I have seen in a long time. Calling out their fear mongering misinformation on social media to eventually link and sell their “clean beauty” products which are actually worse. If people want clean beauty, then you do you, but don’t demonise clinically studied products that are tested and made safely for us. We have toxicologists for a reason, and when we make pharmaceutical meds or skincare, many people don’t realise we have to state the exact required concentration of the right preservative to protect it from microbial contamination which is actually protecting user, and if we didn’t put a preservative, we would have to explain why, and it might be a simple thing like ointment doesn’t contain water etc. it’s like another seller said “don’t buy anything with a chemical sounding ingredient and only buy natural from plants” …I said would you prefer “Dihydrogen Monoxide or Poison Ivy?” 😆

    In Spain doctors recommend tretinoin for acne, face warts and hyperpigmentation. I use 1 mg formula for hyperpigmentation 3 times a week and you have to follow the instructions so you don’t get burns. I tolerate it but if you wash your face less than 30 min before putting on tretinoin it burns like hell and you can get worse pigmentation if using it in the morning. And yes, you peel like a lizard 😅 but it works. Never used it as anti-aging though. I use Xhekpon with hidrolized collagen, cheap and also recommend by my doctor 20 years ago. Pharmacies don’t usually sell Tretinoin without prescription, but mine has known me for 25 years and she knowns ı don’t abuse prescription drugs😅 so I buy mine every two years for hyperpigmentation treatment.

    Full disclosure, I don't know Saladino as a person, so I can't speak about him in that regard. However, I dislike him in a level you can't even imagine, only because he seems to sit down and do half the research he needed to do before opening his mouth. There's a lot of good stuff in what he says, yes, to a certain extent, like all his research. People need to take what he says as a starting point, not gospel. Bobby and Huberman don't even appear anywhere for me anymore. It's so much non-sense, I disliked a ton of their shorts so they wouldn't pop up for me. It worked. I haven't seen their content in a long while.

    20:53 This is my top pick for the body. I have a tonne of sensory issues with sunscreen and this one is the only tolerable one I’ve found - it’s actually dry touch!! In contrast to Omar’s description of “pleasantly plastic” 😂, I think there is absolutely no detectable smell at all and I have Hyperosmia. It’s not my choice for the face though, I like my face to be a tad lighter weight.
